Metatron’s cube is closely related to sacred geometry, which has existed in many forms throughout the history. The term geometry was derived from the Greek words geos and metron that means earth and to measure respectively. It simply refers to the study of shapes and mathematical formulas that can be found in nature.
 
It’s said that the practice originates from old civilizations including the Sumerians, Egyptians, Phoenicians, Minoans and the Greeks. Sacred geometry was an art that was traditionally restricted to the priesthood and was therefore called sacred. It was believed that things were created according to a specific geometric plan, and the study of sacred geometry would uncover the secrets of creation.
 
Metatron’s cube is said to contain all the geometric shapes and patterns that exist, from the spirals of snail shells to the hexagonal shapes of a honeycomb. There are also geometric codes in flowers, snowflakes, DNA molecules, organic life forms and heavenly bodies.
